Moira Wilson Physio Inc is a Milpark Hospital-based physiotherapy practice with decades of experience in trauma, burns, polytrauma, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and hospital-based rehabilitation.

Moira Wilson Physio Inc provides physiotherapy care for patients admitted to hospital due to severe and often life-threatening injuries caused by traumatic accidents or incidents. This includes complex injuries, head injuries, limb amputations, abdominal and chest injuries, blunt and penetrating trauma, severe soft tissue injuries, fractures, polytrauma and burns.

The practice combines hospital-based experience with a hands-on, personal approach to physiotherapy, supporting patients through acute care, rehabilitation and continued recovery after discharge.

Moira Wilson

A career shaped by trauma care, hospital physiotherapy and clinical leadership.

Moira qualified as a physiotherapist in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1978, where she received the prize for best final-year student across all three physiotherapy schools in the city. She also holds an MSc in Burn Care from Queen Mary University of London in the United Kingdom, further strengthening her clinical focus in burns, trauma and complex rehabilitation. Moira moved to South Africa in 1980 and began working at Mines Benefit Hospital in Johannesburg.

Clinical Focus

Hospital physiotherapy for complex injuries and recovery journeys.

The practice is experienced in the management of complex trauma cases, including head injuries, limb amputations, abdominal and chest injuries, blunt and penetrating trauma, severe soft tissue injuries and complex post-operative rehabilitation.

Treatment includes fractures, musculoskeletal and soft tissue conditions, polytrauma and burns. Burns remain Moira’s special area of focus.

All physiotherapists in the practice are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and are connected to iZandla, a physiotherapist business network focused on supporting stronger private physiotherapy practices.

Most physiotherapists belong to special interest groups to enhance their knowledge and keep abreast of developments in physiotherapy. Most are members of the Critical Care Society of South Africa and all physiotherapists in the practice are CPR trained.

All physiotherapists are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
